TheChandelierBid.com is a critical enterprise that questions the viability of object-oriented studio practices within a libidinally driven- and largely immaterial- art market.
In 2014, I contracted a team of product developers, brand strategists, and researchers with the aim of transforming my studio practice into a functional e-commerce platform. The resulting framework is a member-oriented "key club," targeted specifically towards the conspicuous consumers of the luxury art market. That TCB resembles certain platforms used by the adult entertainment industry is not a coincidence. Chandelier Bid Inc. acknowledges the fact that, while the feminization of labor is not necessarily a feminism, it is, necessarily, a labor of seduction.
